Because your items are meticulously handmade, following these gentle care steps will keep them looking pristine and beautiful for years to come.
Crochet Catch-All Baskets & Plant Covers
Spot Cleaning:
For minor spots or spills, blot immediately with a clean, damp cloth and mild, neutral soap. Do not scrub harshly, as this can wear the cotton fibers.
Hand Washing:
If a deeper cleaning is required, submerge the basket in cool water with a mild detergent. Gently press the soapy water through the stitches without wringing or twisting. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
Daily Maintenance:
Gently shake out or lightly vacuum your basket using a brush attachment to remove any dust settled in the stitches.
Drying:
Press excess water out gently using a clean towel. Reshape the basket while damp (pop the base flat and smooth the sides) and lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry.
Crochet Chevron Stitch Afghans & Throw Blankets
Washing:
To protect the soft yarn and intricate chevron stitch pattern, machine wash on a gentle/delicate cycle using cold water and a mild, gentle detergent. We recommend placing the blanket inside a large mesh laundry bag for extra protection.
Drying:
Never tumble dry your handmade afghan. Instead, lay it flat on a clean surface or drying rack, carefully arranging the chevron waves into shape. Allow it to air dry completely before folding or draping.
Bleach & Softeners:
Avoid using bleach, harsh stain removers, or fabric softeners, as these can coat the fibers and degrade the yarn's natural softness and structure over time.
General Tips
Stretching:
Avoid hanging heavy, wet crochet items by their edges while drying, as the weight of the water can stretch the stitches out of alignment. Always support the full weight by laying items flat.
